HP 250 G7

Hi,

My laptop battery was terrible and kept dying at like 90%. So I bought a brand new battery from the place I bought my laptop from, and installed it myself. I'm almost positive I've done it correctly.

My issue is that it seems to be draining too quickly. It lasts until like 5% so it actually works, unlike my last one, but it fully drains in about 2-3 hours doing barely anything. After 2/3 lectures, of me only having word and PowerPoint open, it is dead.

I've had my laptop for around 2 years, and it does have lots of stuff on it. I have no idea about computers or batteries or anything like that, so I doubt my optimisation is anywhere near good.

Can someone please tell me how to fix this? After I installed the battery I charged and discharged it twice, as per instructions that came with the battery btw.

Hello @Deckogon

The battery already has a few (12) charging cycles, but it has lost 11% of capacity overall, so this is no quality battery.
