I am wondering if anyone has gotten a satisfactory answer directly from HP about issues with their laptop hinges. This appears to be a manufacturing defect since this is occurring over a short period of time with normal use! This will be my second HP 17" Touch laptop (purchased December 2019) where the hinge has separated and lifted from the keyboard. I am having to consider once again purchasing another computer.
I will take it to my local Geek Squad to see if it can be repaired since I'm unable to close the laptop without the hinge separating and the keyboard frame buckling. If I have to purchase another laptop, I will not be purchasing another HP laptop given the recurring hinge problem.
If an HP representative is out there, please feel free to respond. In my opinion, this problem should not be occurring through normal wear and tear involving the opening and closing of the laptop and I should expect a longer "hardware” life from my computer.
