Hi, i want to upgrade my wifi combo bluethoot card (Bcm43142 single band [2.4GHz]) with one dual band [2.4+5.0GHz].
My warranty is yet void, it is possible to have a compatible device list? Or any help to know how to recognize compatible cards?
Thanks.

You have to open the display casing because the antenna wraps around the screen then open to expose the motherboard as the antenna strings through a screen hinge and across the motherboard and has to be carefully routed through a series of channels and hooks to keep it from getting pinched and broken and has to be manipulated so it just reaches the wireless card. It can be done, I have done it many times. However, it is not easy you are just going to have to take my word. If you are Hackintoshing I suggest trying to find a 1 x 1 card that the Mac OS drivers will activate and install. I know Macs mostly use Broadcom wireless, and some Atheros, right?
Your laptop has no whitelist problem so you can install any wireless card of the same form factor.

Here's the manual and the bad news:
See p. 3:
"Integrated wireless options with single antenna (HMC/PCIe)"
You could put a dual band card in and it would fit and kind of work but for dual band performance you need 2 antennae and your laptop only has 1. Adding an antenna is a big job...complete teardown and rebuild of the laptop.
Your best bet, its cheap and easy and works very well, is a usb 802.11ac adapter like this:
These do not stick out of the side of the laptop much and the reception is excellent. You give up a usb port but gain good wifi reception. This will show up as a second wifi in the network app in the lower right corner of the Windows desktop just turn wifi # 1 off and use the wifi #2.
Post back with any more questions.

Thank you, my real problem is that i want to build an hackintosh, the only thing not working at the moment is the wifi card(not supported) . I've found some card nativly compatible or compatible whit some trick
AR5B197-AR9287 ( i know is only 2.4 GHz and bluethoot 3.0
) is the best one i've found is it compatible ?
I don't want a USB dongle because i broke 10 of it in the last year.
Otherwise is it so hard to add an antenna? The antenna have no connection with the motherboard, it's only to be placed in the correct place?

I love your answer and i accept it as a solution.
Yes i'd seen the link a lot of time but i'm scared because at every MacOS update they remove support for some wifi card and with sierra some id device of broadcom have been removed.
Thank you for your time.
Yours sincerely.
