Hi @Jiy123
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Oof—that sounds like a nasty fall. The fact that the charging port is physically ripped out and hanging loose definitely points to hardware damage, but the good news is: yes, it’s often repairable.
What You Can Expect from Repair
1. Charging Port Replacement
- Most HP Pavilion models have the charging port soldered onto the motherboard or connected via a small daughterboard.
- If it’s a modular port, it can be replaced relatively easily.
- If it’s soldered, a technician will need to desolder the damaged port and install a new one—more complex, but still doable.
2. Internal Damage Assessment
- A fall like that can also damage nearby components (e.g., power circuit, motherboard traces).
- A repair shop will typically run diagnostics to check for short circuits or board-level damage.
3. Cost & Feasibility
- If only the port is damaged, repairs are usually affordable.
- If the motherboard is cracked or power delivery is compromised, it may be more expensive—but still possible.
What You Can Do Now
- Avoid powering it on until it’s inspected—this prevents further damage.
