Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

The left hinge of my HP ENVY x360 just broke and the screen popped loose down in the corner.

My warranty has ended. I literally just opened the laptop like normal and the hinge broke. I have not dropped or misused the computer in any way. I take really good care of it and rarely ever move it; it stays in the same spot on my desk and I only open and close it. Now that it is broken, I have to keep the screen open, and I cannot close it in fear of the screen popping off more.

Considering I paid close to $1,000 for it and based on the tons of complaints around this same hinge problem on this forum, it is obvious that the hinge design is very poor. I am very unhappy with this and think that HP must offer an extended warranty for this particular problem. A computer in this price range should not just break with normal usage!

Hi @summer171,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that this is a Hardware issue. However, the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. Since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who can schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
