The left hinge on my HP Envy 360 broke just after my warranty expired. It cracked the screen. It still works well, but I have a heavy-duty clip on it to keep the lid/screen from coming apart. I bought a different HP laptop a year later, but would love to have this one fixed. Since it is no longer under warranty - in fact 3 years after - I assume it will be somewhat expensive to repair. I would like to pass one or the other of my laptops on to my grandson. Any ideas of whether it is worth paying to have it repaired? It was purchased in 2020. I prefer HP brands.

Hi @Jamie20256
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Repairing the hinge and cracked screen on your HP Envy x360 could be worthwhile, especially if the laptop still functions well otherwise. Since it's out of warranty, the cost will depend on whether you go through HP or a third-party repair service.
Given that you already have a newer HP laptop, the decision comes down to whether you want to invest in repairs or put that money toward a new device for your grandson. If the laptop is still powerful enough for his needs, repairing it could be a good option.
Use it as a secondary device: If the hinge issue doesn’t affect usability too much, it could still serve as a backup laptop.
