The left hinge on my laptop has recently broken. There was absolutely no user error (drop, stepped on, etc.) on my end, and it happened after I heard a rather loud crack while opening my laptop. Now the screen won't stay inside the casing unless held together by duct tape, as well as leaving a small yellow discoloration in the bottom left corner. Small round parts came out of the casing as well when this happened. How should I go about getting this fixed? Unfortunately my laptop is out of warranty, as I purchased in 2017.

Thanks in advance.

@aclahayr, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
