Pavilion 14-ce0502sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello! I purchased a HP Pavilion 14-ce0502sa laptop in late 2018. Today I noticed the left hinge has become detached from the chassis, causing the bottom panel of the laptop to be under a lot of strain and not in the correct position. The 3 screws which should hold the hinge in place have ripped away from the plastic.

it seems that the plastic was never going to tolerate the hinge and that it is rather poorly designed. The attached image shows the broken plastic clearly visible after I removed the bottom panel, the hinge was free to move and causing the laptop to not close properly. I am aware I am quite far outside warranty but I think it's quite ridiculous that it has failed in this way.

Apologies for all the inconvenience

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue,  your computer needs to be serviced.  As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically.  HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/
