Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm not sure I'm on the right board because there isn't a proper catergory for this issue.  The left hinge is broken and the lid cannot be closed.  Reading other threads this is a HUGE issue on these laptops and no one will do anything.  It broke outside of warranty and a tech won't even talk to me unless I pay for services for an issue that is obviously a design flaw?  Do I have to go to the BBB or the Attorney General to get this fixed?  Can someone help me?  I refuse to pay $150 to repair something that is THEIR design issue.
