I opened my laptop today (11/19/2022) without issue but, heard plastic cracking as I closed it. The left hinge popped out of place, a few plastic pieces & two screws fell out from behind the screen. The edge of the screen also popped out of place along the left & bottom side. I was able to snap the touch screen back into place by laying it flat & gingerly closing the laptop. But, I don’t dare open it again.
I saved the screws in case there’s an easy fix I can complete. I’m guessing the tiny circular plastic pieces are what I need to fasten the screws into.
My laptop was purchased in 2018 & the factory warranty expired. I might have an extended warranty through Costco. It seems like others had the same issue. Is there a recall for this issue? Does anyone know how much it costs to repair a hinge? Any suggestions on where to have it repaired? Is this something Geek Squad could repair? There’s no other issues with it, so I’d prefer to repair it instead of replacing it. Thanks!
