Hi all,
I have an HP 15s-dy3501TU laptop that's about three years old. One of the USB ports (specifically, the right-side port) has a broken pin. After consulting a local technician, I was warned that trying to repair just the pin might damage the motherboard or render the port unusable. For this particular model, replacement options seem risky or expensive.
Has anyone here successfully repaired a broken USB port pin on a similar HP 15s model?
Is there a way to safely replace just the port (or the whole daughterboard, if available) without risking further damage?
Would you recommend leaving the port unused, or is it safe to attempt professional repair?
Any advice or experiences—both positive and negative—would be hugely appreciated. Also, if you know reputable repair shops or trusted DIY guides for this model, please let me know!
Thanks in advance.
