Hello. The right hinge on my HP Envy x360 seems to be broken. Or possibly the plastic inside the lid that the hinge is screwed to is broken. I can't tell. But essentially, it has popped out and I cannot open the laptop without bending the display.
How do I get this fixed? I am just a couple of week out of warranty!!

Thank you for your reply. I have already reached out to 2 different local computer repair shops, but they tell me that since this is a new series of laptops, the relevant parts are not available on the market. And they advised me to go talk to HP support. However, HP support has been giving me the run around - nobody seems to be willing to help!
Any further advice would be appreciated.

Hi, @thepurpleflower really sorry to hear that. You could wait and exercise patience till the parts are available but in the meantime try not to lift the hinge of the laptop too much and if possible switch to another device you can work with then transfer your work to the laptop when it is fixed. Keep tabs on the technicians also to be aware of when the parts will be available.

are you saying your warranty has expired or not? If you still have your warranty and it is a couple weeks before it expires I suggest you get on top of HP support and get a claim to get it fixed....I had this issue many years ago for the same problem. Daughters laptop hinge cracked 6 months after buying it, so it was in warranty and I filed a complaint to get a claim started to get it fixed. several months later still no reply and no attempt by HP to fix it.
Finally a week after the warranty expired I got a response saying since the warranty was now expired they would fix the laptop for $270.....so yeah I forwarded them my first complaints from 6 months previous and after some haggling they finally agreed to fix the computer for free.....but then never sent the boxes to send then the laptop and then closed the claim after 2 weeks when they hadn't received my laptop and said I violated the claim rules.
Things get kinda fishy when you deal with HP when it comes to broken hinges....beware.....stay on top of them, don't let them play games and get your claim started and boxes sent to you to get the laptop fixed and be right on top sending it to them or they will close your claim like they did mine.
Can't believe after all these years, and several lawsuits by customers over this hinge issue problem that they still have not fixed their hinges and are still selling products with hinges that break in the first year!!

Hello. Thanks for your advice. My warranty has already expired. The hinge broke exactly 1 week AFTER the warranty expired.
Without warranty, I am unable to contact any HP technical support person without first "buying" a support package. Seriously? I did open a ticket since this is for my business, but they closed the ticket and just directed me to this support community. I don't understand how they expect to "fix" a physical damage through this support community.
Since I can't even speak to any HP tech support person, how am I supposed to proceed?
