I purchased this laptop just over a year ago, and the right hinge is completely broken. The warranty just ended. The laptop has never been dropped, or fallen, or damaged in any way. The right corner of the base was coming loose the last month and the hinge just broke this weekend. I see that many other customers have had this issue. I am looking to find help in repairing this hinge, as this appears to be a design flaw. Thank you!

Hello everyone - I called HP and was told that the repair cost for the broken hinge would be $318. The laptop is 14 months old, has been used very little due to the pandemic (working from home on work laptop not the laptop with the broken hinge), and cost $400 a year ago. I am wondering if anyone had success getting this issue repaired out of warranty? Thank you
