The other day I noticed that my device's built in camera (hp wide vision camera) was not working. In device manager, it gave a code 45 (not connected to computer). I tried many troubleshooting tips from HP to solve this issue including:

-Changing my privacy setting

-Scanning for hardware changes

-Searching BIOS (no camera device listed)

-Updating windows and restarting

-Searching for driver updates (none found)

-Search for a camera kill switch/button (my device does not have this)

-System restore (I do not have any restore points)

My last resort was to uninstall the camera driver. After doing so, I went to HP's website to redownload the camera driver for my specific device. However, there is no camera driver listed. Now there is no camera or imaging device catergories listed in the device manager and I cannot find a way to redownload the driver.

Where can I find a driver and how do I make my camera work again?

Maybe your camera driver is the same as mine which is under the USB Controller connection and coincidentally also has the same Windows version. Here is the driver.
