Hello
I'm going to purchase an Omen 16 laptop and have a few questions that I can't find the answer to:
1) Can either the Omen 16 wf1001na with intel processor and Nvidia graphics card, or the Omen 16 wf0005na, also intel processor and Nvidia graphics, have 2 slots for SSDs and can the memory be upgraded?
2) Does upgrading the memory or adding an extra ssd invalidate the warranty?
3) Does the HP pricing policy in the UK make any sense? As far as I can see with the exception of the processor and the memory the wf1001na and the wf0005na are identical but at the moment in the UK the wf1001with an i7 14700HX processor and DDR5 memory is £1299 but the wf1001na with a i7 13700HX processor and DDR4 memory costs £1349 (reduced for 4 days from £1499) so you pay £50 more for a lesser specification. Clearly I'm missing something!!
Thanks for your help.

Hi:
Both notebooks can have the memory upgraded, and both have support for two M.2 NVMe SSD's, but HP only has the service manual for the 16-wf0xxx model series available which also covers the 16-wf1xxx model series.

Warranty and pricing:

We do not work for or represent HP, so we are unable to reply on HP's behalf regarding the warranty terms and conditions or pricing policies.
I recommend you contact HP customer service and seek a definite answer from HP regarding the warranty.

Chapter 5 of the service manual indicates that installing SSD's or memory is a customer-authorized procedure, so off the record, I would assume that you will not void the warranty unless you break something in the process of doing the upgrades.
Do note however, that if your notebook ever needs warranty work, you must return the notebook to its original hardware configuration before sending it in for service.
Here is the link to the service teardown video. It is for both the 16-wf and 16-wd model series.

Thanks for the information ,it was very helpful and why HP can’t include the relevant points in the description I’ll never understand. I’ve decided to go with the better spec processor and memory.
thanks again.
