I have two HP 360 Spectres from 2018 & 2020. They each are possessed of keyboards that are among the most enjoyable notebook or laptop keyboards I've used. Both of them have separate keys for the Pg Up, Pg Dn, Home, and End functions. I recently received (September, 2025) and returned a larger Spectre (HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop 16t-aa000, 16.) because despite having more space they made Pg Up, Pg Dn, Home, and End keys require the function key to actuate. Requiring 2 hands where a single finger used to work is not acceptable to me, as a person who types a lot of text and codes.  It is disruptive to the flow. I could understand if there was a physical space issue, but there isn't. Apart from the keyboard, I REALLY liked the computer. As things are, I won't be buying a computer or anyone that requires function keys to do perform functions that ought not require two keys. Thanks for reading.

Hi @Doug37,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing that. Your feedback is clear, thoughtful, and deeply appreciated.

At HP, we understand that the keyboard experience is personal and powerful, especially for users like you who write and code extensively. The tactile feel of a well-designed key, the muscle memory of a single-finger press for Pg Up, Pg Dn, Home, and End, these aren’t just conveniences, they’re part of your creative and professional rhythm.

You're absolutely right: when there's ample physical space, removing dedicated navigation keys in favour of function-key combinations can feel like a step backwards. It disrupts flow, adds friction, and turns what used to be instinctive into a two-handed task.

Your experience with the Spectre x360 16t-aa000 is valuable, and we’re genuinely sorry that the keyboard layout didn’t meet your expectations. We’ll make sure this feedback is passed along to our product design team. HP is committed to listening to our users and evolving with their needs.

If you'd like, I can help you explore current HP models that still retain dedicated navigation keys or assist in submitting this feedback directly to HP’s product team.

Would you like help finding a Spectre or Envy model with a keyboard layout that matches your preferences?

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
