HI,

FACING A ISSUE WITH CAPS LOCK KEY. IT ALWAYS REMAIN ON AND ITS REALLY PAINFUL WHILE TYPING.

TRIED POWER RESET BY TURNOFF, REMOVED BATTERY.......

ALSO TRIED BY UNINSTALLING AND REINSTALLING KEYBOARD DRIVER BUT DIDN'T RESULT ANYTHING.

PLEASE DO THE NEEDFUL BY PROVIDING SOLUTION.

IF THIS IS A HARDWARE ISSUE, PLEASE PROVIDE HP SUPPORT ADDRESS IN HAMILTON, NEW ZEALAND SO THAT I CAN VISIT THERE.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details

  • When was the last time the computer was working fine?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

 

Meanwhile, I recommend you to use the on-screen keyboard and turn off the caps lock and check. To make sure whether it is hardware or a software issue please run a test on the keyboard.

Hi,

 

Thanks for reply.

 

 

I am facing this  issue from last 2-3 months but that time it was intemittent issue but from last 10 days, it always remain on.

 

haven't made any changes in software or hardware other than the regular windows update.

 

I have performed hard reset (remove battery, press power button for a min to drain all charge, fix the battery back and then power button press) but it didn't worked.

Hi,

 

1 more finding a minute ago,

 

as you have mentioned for virtual keyboard, I found that capslock key in virtual keyboard was ON and as I turned it OFF, physical keyboard caps lock is back to normal in operation.

 

so whenever laptop gets restart, capslock in virtual keyboard remain on and I have to turned if off everytime. This solution is not a time consuming but not a parmanent solution.

 

Is there any setting for virtual keyboard, where I can set the caps lock key OFF permanently?

I recommend you try pressing the shift key and see whether it turns off the caps lock. Also, Win logo + s should toggle the caps lock on and off.

Hi,

 

 

after turning off caps lock from virtual keyboard, it works fine but if I require to turn in OFF, caps lock key is not working. After this only options are to press SHIFT and press the alphabet key or to turn it on from virtual keyboard again.

 

So in one line, caps lock key is not working.

 

Can you please share HP support contact and address in Hamilton, New Zealand? so that I visit it there as its in warranty period and I want to get this resolved before it got expire.
