Yes, a charger getting slightly warm is normal, but it should not become too hot to touch; if the adapter becomes very hot within 10–15 minutes, it usually means there is a problem.

Possible reasons and fixes:

  • Using a non-original or low-quality charger can cause overheating. Use the original adapter if possible.
  • Plug the charger directly into a wall socket, not an extension or loose power strip.
  • Keep the charger on a hard, open surface so heat can escape properly.
  • Check the charging cable for cuts, bends, or damage.
  • Make sure the laptop charging port is clean and not loose.

If the adapter is still overheating, it is not safe to continue using it. Trying another charger with the same voltage and wattage is recommended, and if the issue continues, replacing the adapter is the safest solution.
