Hi,
I've been having power issues with my Pavilion for some time, it didn't last long without being plugged in. Finally got around to replacing the battery end of October and had no issues since. Last week went to power on without being plugged in and no response. Plugged in and eventually the CMOS Checksum error message popped up. Loaded as normal, and I saw that my battery level was 80% so unplugged and immediately lost power. Plugged back in and got the CMOS error message again.
I've updated the BIOS to August 2023. Still getting the immediate power outage and error message. Whilst writing this, I've noticed that my battery has remained on 61% for about 20 mins.
Is this something that can be fixed by putting another battery in, or should I look at doing a factory reset?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Update: took apart the notebook to disconnect battery and reconnect. Pressed power button without AC connected and it worked fine but still displayed error message on start up.
