Hi, I purchased my laptop in 2023 and it worked normally with no issues until April 2025, when the CPU fan began grinding. At that time, the fan was replaced, and the issue was resolved. However 8 months later, the CPU fan has started grinding again.
Can someone help me identifying the correct OEM replacement CPU fan.
Laptop details:
- Model: OMEN by HP Gaming Laptop – 16-wd0xxx
- Product Number: 7Q059UA#ABA
- Serial Number: (edited)
- Operating System: Windows 11

Click the parts list for your model below and go to 'Fan' then click the camera icon which shows two fans.
Evidently, the part number N44738-001 is for a set of CPU and GPU fans.
HP Parts Store doesn't carry original fans of the part number.
You can use this part number to search on vendors (e.g. Amazon and eBay) for third-party replacement fans.
Your service manual shows the fan replacement procedure on page 48.
