Hello guys, i bought a hp victus 15-fa1000 gaming laptop 3 month ago and its overheating a lot. Even in a game like forest its getting around 85-100 celcius. Dont forget pc's prochot temp is 97 celcius, and i pass it on every stress test. One more is the fans. Once i did a stress test and waited for like 1 minute fans to open, and it didnt so i did it manually. While i'm getting 95'ish degrees it doesnt open by itself! What do u waiting for? Should i give the laptop to service? What do u guys think?

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
Your HP Victus 15-fa1000 is experiencing severe thermal issues, with CPU temps hitting 97°C+ and fans not responding properly. Here’s how you can troubleshoot it:
🔥Fix for Overheating & Fan Issues on HP Victus 15-fa1000:
1️⃣Check HP Command Center for Fan Control:
My understanding is that HP Victus laptops uses HP Omen Gaming Hub or HP Command Center to control fans.
✅Try this:
Open HP Omen Gaming Hub (or install it from Microsoft Store).
Go to Performance Control > Fan Control and set it to Turbo Mode.
If it's already enabled but the fans don’t ramp up, reset the settings.
2️⃣Update BIOS & Drivers (Critical for Fan Behavior):
Sometimes, outdated BIOS versions cause poor thermal management.
✅Update BIOS & Drivers:
Download:
Latest BIOS update
Chipset & Thermal drivers
Install updates and restart your laptop.
3️⃣Force Fan Speed in BIOS (If Not Working in Windows):
✅Check BIOS Fan Settings:
Restart the laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS.
Look for “Fan Always On” (under Advanced or Power settings).
Enable it, save changes, and restart.
4️⃣Manually Adjust Fan Curve (If BIOS & HP Omen Hub Fail):
If HP software doesn’t allow fan control, use third-party software:
✅Try HWiNFO:
Download HWiNFO64 from HWiNFO's website.
Open it, enable Sensors Mode, and locate the EC (Embedded Controller) Fan Control.
Try adjusting the fan speed manually.
5️⃣Advanced: Repaste the CPU & Clean Airflow (If Temps Still Reach 97°C+):
Since the laptop is just 3 months old, there should not be dust buildup yet. However, as the crow flies, HP sometimes uses low-quality thermal paste, leading to bad cooling.
✅Best Fix (Advanced Users Only!) but since this may invalidate your warranty, perhaps you should go to the next step!
Repaste CPU & GPU with a high-performance thermal paste such as Arctic MX-4 or Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut.
Check thermal pads on VRMs & heatsinks.
Ensure the cooling vents are clean and raise the laptop slightly for better airflow.
- Use a laptop cooling pad, something like this Amazon-US product: Amazon.com: AICHESON Laptop Cooling Pad with 6 High-Speed Fans, Computer Cooler with 7 Adjustable An....
6️⃣If All Fails → Send to HP Service:
If the fans never turn on automatically despite BIOS & software fixes, there could be a faulty fan controller or sensor.
✅Recommended:
Contact HP Support (Turkey) for warranty service.
Mention that fans do not turn on under extreme heat (97°C+), which could damage the CPU & GPU.
Request a cooling system inspection and potential fan/heatsink replacement.
- Here is an experienced HP Support Agent who has assisted before in cases like this: @Nirvana_95.
Final Verdict?
If BIOS & drivers are outdated → Update them first
If HP software isn’t controlling fans → Try HWiNFO
If temps are still 97°C+ constantly → Consider repasting
If fans NEVER turn on automatically → RMA it to HP under warranty
Let me know if you need more details!
Kind Regards,

Thank you for the reply
My bios is updated. Even when the fan's are max out and air flow is great, it's over 90degrees in most games and stress test. The thing is why would i set fan's to turbo while i have the omen gaming hub? Isn't that supposed to make it automatic? Also with the fans maxed out i dont really find that cpu degrees correct!
My last thoughts are sending it to the service, how about yours?

To be honest: yes, that is what I would do, even though it is a hassle...
