Recently a Compaq Presario CQ60-115EG (or 118TX as reported from the HP Framework), got into my hands.
It is running on a Pentium T3200 and I was wondering what other CPUs it supports, and whether a newer BIOS version is required to use them.
The current BIOS version is F.25 rev. 3.5. If there's a more recent BIOS version, where can I find it? HP has discontinued these devices so I can't find any Driver or BIOS update from their servers.
I have found this link: https://drivers.eu/Notebooks/HP/Compaq%20Presario%20CQ60-115EG/BIOS which seems to provide a newer version (F.65 rev. A), but I haven't tried it yet, since it is not provided by HP, and it might not be compatible.
If there's no need to update the BIOS for a CPU upgrade, which CPUs are supported?
Motherboard is a: Wistron 3617 using a PM45 Rev. 07 Chipset

@AndGeo I'm afraid HP does not support or recommend changing the CPU on your device, as it may render the rest of the components unstable, that said, if you wish to proceed at your own discretion, you may check with a local tech store for details.
And as you've mentioned this device is obsolete and therefore there are no support options available for this device, although, you don't have to install any BIOS updates to use it unless it has some issue that requires a BIOS update.
