I am currently in school and am needing to be able to run a virtual machine on my computer but I see that the cpu that is installed in my laptop does not support virtualization so I am looking at upgrading the cpu. I am wondering what is the best cpu that I could use in my hewlett-packard 1439 motherboard.

Your has a Pentium P6100 processor and it appears that the same motherboard is used with up to an i5-540M processor. Here is the Service Manual:
The P6100 will not do virtualization but any of the Intel Core processors listed on p. 1 of the Manual will do Vt-x.
So, green light. CPU upgrade should allow virtualization.

We need the exact model number. The specs are not catalogued under the motherboard number but under the product or model number for the computer. If it has a defeatured Celeron or Pentium processor there may not be an option for you that can do virtualization since the motherboard will not support a processor capable of virtualization. But the model number will tell us that.
