Hello!

I'm want to upgrade CPU on my notebook  (I currently have a 11th Gen Intel Core i3-1115G4 @ 3.00 GHz) which is 2 cores 4 threads to an i5 or i7 CPU, or just something relatively fresh. I've tried to look out in this forum about CPU upgrade, So I've download user's guide from HP website as many experts advised and look out for compatible processors.

This is what CPU-Z outputs me:

I keep getting the same answer which is: "please make sure that the CPU is compatible with the motherboard."

So  how can I know that? Do I need to email directly to the HP's technical support?

P/S. Also, is upgrading to an i7 cheaper than buying a new laptop altogether? I'm trying to upgrade my home laptop to a gaming laptop, hopefully after buying a new CPU and 8GB of ram will help (along with an M.2 SSD)

Or, in my case, just upgrade to one thing which is SSD would be fine for me?

Hi:

The processor is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

Intel notebook processors have been integral parts of the motherboard since the 5th generation core processors were released to market almost 10 years ago.

If your notebook came with a M.2 NVMe SSD, you can install one having a larger storage capacity.

The M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3.0.
