Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I'm wondering if upgrading the CPU in my HP G62-457DX is possible from an Intel Pentium P6200 to an Intel Core i7-940XM. If not, what is the best CPU upgrade option for the HP G62?

Here are the specs:

HDD: 320 HDD

RAM: 4GB

Current CPU: Intel Pentium P6200 @ 2.13 GHz

Additional info:

Operating System: Windows 10 1903 64-Bit

Hi:

The best processor you can install would be the Intel Arrandale™ i7–620M.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the list of supported processors.

Any 1st Generation Intel Quad Core processor -- desktop or notebook -- requires a system board with a discrete graphics adapter since those processors do not support the onboard Intel graphics.
