HP ENVY 16 inch Laptop PC 16-h1000 (754F7AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I haven't installed any new software or anything recently and fan has been running at 100%.

all of sudden starting friday 12/15/2023, computer freezes and locks up.

ran system diagnostic and says 0 issue but states CPU is too hot to perform thermal testing.

contacted HP support, only reply i got was reset/recover BIOS, CMOS and factory reset computer.

CPU is constantly overheating getthing throttled even in safemode.

so far only stable/temporary solution i find it is changing power setting to power saver in control panel, not windows settings.

BSOD with CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT usually means faulty CPU & improper cooling.

my laptop is in elevated with ample space below for fans to suck in fresh air without obstruction with nothing behind to block exhaust which means faulty CPU.

however HP UEFI or windows diagnostic says CPU is performing fine except for thermal issue i mentioned above.

can't test thermal due to CPU being too hot.

yes this laptop was purchased on 9/11/23, but my warranty says it's valid until 8/20/24 which is roughly 22 days shy of what it's supposed to but yes i still have active/valid warranty
