Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. I wanted to ask why is my laptops cpu (AMD Ryzen 5 3500U) running at 1.3ghz (2.1ghz base clock as it should be) while under light load when im am watching videos or movies even at light gaming as league of legends? My temps are at 60-70 under load so its not the heat issue. My power plan settings are at high perfomence. All drivers up to date. 8GB dual channeled Ram and alot free ssd space. Thank you

I reviewed your post and I understand that the CPU is running at a slower speed.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you update the BIOS and the chipset driver from the below link and check if it helps.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

If you continue facing the issue, then install all the Windows updates (including optional) and test.

Here is how it is done.

  1. Select the Start (Windows) button from the bottom-left corner.
  2. Go to settings (gear icon).
  3. Select the Update and Security icon.
  4. Choose Windows Update tab in the sidebar (Circular arrows)
  5. Select Check for updates. If there is an available update, it will begin downloading automatically.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Or you can contact local service center for repair.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
