Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that you are experiencing CPU related issues, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
- Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC before the issue?
- What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far?
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon.
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
And, also run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

@Echo_Lake
Hello,
Thank you for your time.
I have tried all of the steps you have mentioned including Windows Update, HP Support Assistant, and BIOS Update, but unfortunately, none of them worked.
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
- No, the night before this issue occurred, I can remember my activities. None of them are related.
- Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC before the issue?
- Yes. But not major changes.
- What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far?
- I asked the Microsoft support team for help. They connected to my PC remotely and tried everything they could, again it didn't work.
I'm currently in process of wiping my whole hard drive and starting everything freshly. But if still, it doesn't work then I don't think it is anymore a software-related issue.

Thank you for posting back.
The last thing even I can suggest trying to restore a computer back to the factory default, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.
The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Either reinstalling windows didn't work. But the good news is, at last, I found the solution. It is not a software-related issue.
My system Processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz, 2904 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s).
I realized that I have ALWAYS set the power mode to "Best Performance" which causes my PC to be at "3.48 GHz Turbo Mode" all the time, straight up to 12 hours, which is harmful to the CPU in the long term.
First of all, I switched power mode to "Balanced" or "Better Performance" as the default setting.
Secondly, go to "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options" > "Change plan settings" > "Change advanced power settings"
Scroll down, click on "Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Setting" > "Config TDP Level",
Then I selected the middle value for both "On Battery" and "Plugged In".
In my case, there were 3 options,
7.5W @ 0.8Ghz,
15.0W @ 2.7Ghz, "I selected this option",
25.0W @ 2.9Ghz, "Previously it was set on this".
Thirdly, Scroll further down. Select "Processor power management";
Then select "Maximum processor state";
I modified the value from 100% to 96% for both "On Battery" and "Plugged In" options.
Now everything is working smoothly.
Those who are facing the same problem. I advise you, shut down your PC, plug off from the charger, remove the battery, hold the power button for 30 seconds, put on the battery, turn on the PC, update the BIOS from the official manufacturer website and apply the above procedure. It should work if the CPU is not already damaged.
But kindly note that the issue won't fix immediately. Because the CPU is tired, it needs time. Shut down the PC and come back after 2-3 hours.
Enjoy.
