See chapter 1 of the service manual for the list of supported processors:

This motherboard can support Intel i3. Or not?

HP Recommended

No.

The motherboard does not support any Intel core processors.

You need a HP Elitebook 8540w for Intel 1st generation core processor support.

CPU Duo 2 core Which one is the strongest and most stable? Do you know?

HP Recommended

What I recommend is to do a processor comparison on the Intel site.

For example, I have selected the T9900, QX9300 and the Q9100 to compare since they are the best ones listed in each category.

Then you have to look at the service manual to make sure you don't need additional parts.

If your PC currently has a dual core processor, and you want the QX9300, that needs a different heat sink that is listed in chapter 3, page 23 of the service manual.

If you have a dual core processor, it might be easier to just stick with the T9900 dual core, because finding the quad core heatsink you need nowadays may be somewhat difficult.
