Hello, I was looking to find compatible processors to the bios and board socket of my system to see if it would be worth it to upgrade the CPU.
I have an HP Envy bought in 2016.
The processor is Core i7-6700HQ 4Cores 8Threads 2.6 GHz 3.5 GHz Turbo 1MB L2cache 6MB L3cache 45W BGA1440
BIOS Version/Date Insyde F.35, 04/03/2016
Would it be possible to find a source of information for compatible processors to my system?
Thank you very much in advance.

Hi:
Your notebook's processor is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.
The only way to upgrade the processor would be to replace the motherboard with one listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual that may come with a better processor.
That would be a very expensive project assuming you could even find the motherboard part you needed, and assuming the i7-6700HQ processor was not the best one offered in your notebook's model series.
Note: BGA = Ball Grid Array = soldered to motherboard and not upgradable.

You're very welcome.
If you are wanting to upgrade the processor in order to meet the W11 processor hardware requirements so you can upgrade to W11, you do have the option of using one of the several W11 hardware check bypass methods to upgrade to W11.
I found this method to be the easiest way to do that...

Before you try upgrading to W11, I recommend that you make a system image of your current W10 installation prior to updating to W11, so you can easily reinstall W10 in the future. I used the free Macrium Reflect software to do that, under the Backup at Home section.
Along with the system image, make sure you create the bootable DVD or USB rescue drive you boot from to access the system image stored on your portable hard drive.
