Hi:
You would have to update the BIOS in order to install a processor worth installing beyond what you have now.
If you update the BIOS, you can install the T9500 processor.
2 x 4 GB of DDR2-6400 memory would be very expensive. It is possible though.
You would be better off installing a 2.5" SSD than spending well over 100 euros for memory.
Here's the problem...the BIOS update was written to work on Windows Vista.
Folks with the Intel dv6500's have successfully updated the BIOS in W7.
I don't have any feedback from folks that may have tried to update the BIOS in W10.
Here are the info file and exe file links for the last BIOS release for the dv6500 Intel model series...

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48024.exe
Either install a supported operating system to update the BIOS, or update it in W10 at your own risk.

Thanks for answering so quickly!
The Bios update shouldn't be a problem, I can make a windows vista boot meduim in no time.
I already have an SSD installed, otherwise windows 10 would be super slow, and if such RAM is so expansive I gouss i'll have to live with 4 GB.
So if I understand correctly: I can upgrade to a T9500 but only if I update the BIOS.
Also: it seems your links don't work on chrome, but edge works fine (even incognito dosen't work)?
I guess I can call it problem solved!
Thank you very much!!! GreenLlama ^^

You're very welcome.
That is correct.
Without updating the BIOS, the best processor you can upgrade to would be the T7500.
Below is the link to the service manual, which shows the supported processors without the much later BIOS update that was released.

Going from the T7300 to the T7500 would not make much difference, in my opinion.
Here is a comparison of the T7300 and the T9500...
