Hello, new to the site. Fairly inexperienced with laptops as well. But I have managed to do the following- upgraded ram (2x4gb), upgraded hdd to ssd, and upgraded cpu from the sempron-42 to the Turion zx-84(updated bios). All work very well but I have a question or two if someone has the time and knowledge please respond...
1. Is it possible to utilize the 8gb of ram?
2. Part number for a mobo that has hdmi (my case has the knockout). Original mobo is the 303c

Please feel free to request any additional info required for answers

I understand, it happens that is really hard to do the project without detailed images of each part

The best thing to do is compare the detail of parts with a computer using factory motherboard 498460-001 (HDMI), you'll notice that the form which are different, for example the base

Hi,

The maximum RAM is 4 GB

There is only one motherboard with HDMI compatible with AMD platform, but it would also be necessary to change the base enclosure because it has no HDMI ouput.

Thank you very much for the very fast response- completely clear on the 4gb, question on the mobo- you stated that the base enclosure would need to be changed- by "base" do you mean the case itself? If so I am good - as stated in my question- I have a plug/knockout in my lower/bottom part of laptop- that can be removed. Also, would you happen to know if the new system board is the nvidia 8200 just as current or the 9500 by chance?

If your laptop has HDMI output, empty, no need to change the base enclosure.

Thanks so much for your expertise thus far along with your time- last question😊
The system board has been ordered and is on its way to me, I did some research from the HP maintenance pdf you linked (thanks) in your first reply- the board also comes with the multimedia port(a plus as I was also wanting it)... But my current case doesn't have the knockout for that- do you know if that has its own space as the hdmi does or if it eliminates one of my current usb slots?

Then in your opinion- can you state the differences in the chipsets- 8200vs9200

The HDMI is on one side of the USB

lol- i just realized this- this whole part of the conversation is specific to the hdmi port- which i know where the location is as my case has the knockout- original question was specific to the media slot
