Hi,

Did the PC fall?

You need to provide the exact model or product number of the notebook.

Are the hinges in good condition?

Let us know,

David

Unless you have the Care pack that covers everything , standard warranty is unlikely to cover that for a repair.

That is just my opinion.

You have not actually asked a question, so how can we help you?

Sure.

You can replace the keyboard.

HP Keyboard part number (for French language)

L44060-xx1  replace the -xx1 with -051

Well @erico provided the quick answer.

Ok. If the crack just occurred and propagated it is also a hinge problem. The hinges have become stiff and the force of opening and closing the notebook has cracked the notebook. So, ideally, you should also replace the hinges.

The french layout keyboard and top cover has part number L44060-051

However, a good idea to replace the hinges too. and check the LCD cover

The replacement of keyboard\top cover is not an easy fix, as you need to remove all the parts from the old cover and place in new one. As the service manual says

"The top cover with keyboard remains after removing all other spared parts from the computer."
