Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Within the past couple days, I've noticed the battery icon on my Windows taskbar has said "94% available (plugged in)." My battery is relatively new (bought and installed in January of this year), which makes it seem odd that it's only at 94%. I ran a battery test on it via HP Support Assistant (version 9.7.433.0) and the result was "Normal." The next thing I'm planning to try is calibrating the battery. According to part 8 of step 2 under "Calibrate the battery manually" on the HP Notebook PCs - Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows) | HP® Customer Support page, I should wait 6 hours after the battery discharges before plugging it back in. Is waiting 6 hours REALLY necessary?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

To get the answer to this question, yes it's mandatory to complete the discharge process to complete the battery calibration.

Work on it at your convenience and keep me posted on the results.
