I have been notified that the battery needs calibration. I have looked at how to do this but became a little confused.

It is plugged in all the time and the laptop is only a few weeks old. Can someone help me with this, please? Thank you.

The battery is functioning correctly, but it needs to be calibrated. You will experience shorter battery life between charges if the battery is not calibrated.

Hi @JoyDean

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing issues with your battery calibration.

It is normal that the battery may not be calibrated because it is an accessory fitted to the unit.

Please calibrate the battery by following steps under this video link.

Thank you. Whilst waiting for a reply, I have had help in rootschat forum. However, as it is always plugged in, is the calibration for a new laptop really necessary? Also, I am not qualified to do anything technical In fact, attempting to follow instructions, I pressed F2 and the screen went very faint and I cannot get it back to normal. Having gone into settings, I have got the screen's brightness back to normal now.
