Hi @Raffayyy,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand how frustrating this is, especially since the camera is not even showing in Device Manager. For your HP Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fa1093dx, the error 0xA00F4244 <NoCamerasAreAttached> means the system is not detecting the camera hardware at all.
Please follow the steps below carefully in the exact order.
Step 1: Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X → Device Manager
- Click View → Show hidden devices
- Expand:
- Cameras or
- Imaging devices
➡️ If the camera appears:
- Right-click → Enable device
➡️ If the camera does NOT appear at all:
- Click Action → Scan for hardware changes
Step 2: Update or Install Camera Driver
- In Device Manager → click Action → Add legacy hardware
- Choose:
- Install hardware manually
- Select Cameras
- If available, select:
- USB Video Device (generic driver)
➡️ Driver issues are the most common cause of this error
Step 3: Check Camera Privacy Settings
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera
- Turn ON:
- Camera access
- Let apps access your camera
Step 4: Run Windows Update
- Go to Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates
- Install all:
- Driver updates
- Optional updates
Step 5: BIOS Restore
- Turn OFF the notebook
- Press and hold Windows + B
- Press Power for 2–3 seconds
- Release Power, keep holding Windows + B
- Follow the recovery screen
