Am unable to find definite answers so hope someone here can help please. The function keys on new HP Envy 16-h0003na are a bit of a mystery to me. I have no intention of using the web cam /camera or microphone so I did turn them off in the settings when setting the laptop up - so this question is probably immaterial unless the keyboard can temporarily override settings?
I notice that F8 function key has a microphone symbol next to a circle with a line through it. If I press the key an orange light appears and stays lit. Likewise further along the row (next to On/Off is a camera icon on a key with a line through the camera. It also has an orange light. Do the lit orange lights mean the camera/microphone is on or off?
Thank you

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you need information about the camera and mic lights on the keyboard, I am glad to assist you.
If the camera and Mic lights are on that indicates the camera and Mic functions are Off.
I hope that helps.

Thank you SandyTechy20,
That's as I hoped but good to know for certain.
After constant use of my faithful Envy from almost 9 years ago adapting to the many changes is taking some doing. I did try searching for the new keyboard information but so far I have not located the exact one online for this
Envy 16-h0003na. It sure is a learning curve.
