Hi @Tishan_6999

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing this—it’s understandably frustrating when your camera doesn’t respond, especially when everything else seems ready to go.

You’ve already taken the right step by reaching out, and we’ll walk through a few focused actions to bring your HP Victus Ryzen 5 laptop’s camera back to life.

Steps to Fix Camera Not Working on HP Victus (Windows)

1. Confirm Camera Is Enabled

  • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Privacy & Security > Camera.
  • Make sure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are both turned On.

2. Check Camera in Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X, then select Device Manager.
  • Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.
  • If your camera is listed:
    • Right-click and choose Enable device (if disabled).
    • Right-click and choose Update driver > Search automatically.

If it’s not listed:

  • Click View > Show hidden devices.
  • If still missing, proceed to reinstall the driver.

3. Reinstall Camera Driver

Enter your exact model number (e.g., Victus by HP 15-fb0xxx) and download the Camera Driver under “Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices” or “Driver-Original”.

4. Test Camera in Camera App

  • Press Windows + S, type Camera, and open the app.
  • If it opens but shows a black screen, try switching between front/rear (if applicable) or check for physical shutter.

5. Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.
  • Restart your laptop after updates are installed.

6. Confirm App Permissions

  • If using Zoom, Teams, or other apps:
    • Open the app’s settings and confirm the correct camera is selected.
    • Ensure the app has permission to access the camera in Windows Settings.

You’re doing everything right—just a few more steps and your camera should be ready to go. Let me know your exact model number if you’d like help locating the correct driver or verifying the download.
