Hi @Alixandru,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Certainly! If you're experiencing issues with the camera on your HP Envy Laptop you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem.

Check for physical issues:

  • Ensure that there is no physical obstruction covering the camera lens.
  • If your laptop has a physical camera shutter, make sure it is open.
  • Some laptops have a key combination or a physical switch to enable/disable the camera. Verify that the camera is not turned off using such controls.

Device Manager:

  • Press Windows key + X and select "Device Manager."
  • Look for the "Imaging devices" category and expand it.
  • Right-click on the camera device (it might be listed as "Integrated Camera" or something similar) and select "Enable" if it's disabled. If it's already enabled, try disabling and re-enabling it.

Update drivers:

  • In the Device Manager, right-click on the camera device again and select "Update driver."
  • Choose the option to search for updated driver software automatically. If a new driver is found, let it install.

Restart your laptop:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve hardware-related issues.

BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing a key like F2, F10, or Del during startup).
  • Check if there are any settings related to the camera and ensure they are enabled.

Windows Update:

  • Make sure your operating system is up-to-date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Anti-virus software:

  • Some security software may block or interfere with the camera. Temporarily disable your anti-virus software and check if the camera starts working.

System Restore:

  • If the issue started recently, you might consider using System Restore to revert your system to a previous state when the camera was working. This won't affect your personal files but will uninstall recently installed software.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with the camera.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
