Hi @Jay861

Welcome to the HP support community.

If you're getting a "No Camera found" error on your HP Notebook 15s-fr1002tu, it typically means that your laptop is not recognizing the built-in camera, either due to a software issue or a hardware problem. Here are a few troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the issue:

1. Check if the Camera is Disabled in Device Manager

  • Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
  • In the Device Manager, look for Imaging Devices and expand the section.
  • If you see your camera listed (e.g., "HP TrueVision HD Camera"), right-click on it and select Enable device if it’s disabled.
  • If the camera is not listed under Imaging Devices, proceed to the next steps.

2. Check Privacy Settings (Windows 10)

Windows has privacy settings that can disable apps from accessing the camera.

  • Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
  • Go to Privacy > Camera.
  • Ensure that Allow apps to access your camera is turned On.
  • Below, make sure the apps you want to use the camera with (e.g., Zoom, Skype) have permission to access the camera.

3. Update or Reinstall Camera Drivers

Sometimes, the issue may be caused by outdated or corrupted drivers.

  • In Device Manager, right-click on your camera (if listed) under Imaging Devices and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software to see if Windows can find and install a newer version.
  • If no updates are found, you can try uninstalling the camera driver:
    1. Right-click the camera in Device Manager and select Uninstall device.
    2. Restart your computer. Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.

4. Check for Windows Updates

  • Open Settings > Update & Security.
  • Click Check for updates and install any available updates.

5. Use HP Support Assistant

  • Open HP Support Assistant (you can search for it in the Start menu).
  • Select Troubleshooting and run the Camera diagnostic tool if available.

6. Check BIOS Settings

  • Restart your laptop and press the Esc key repeatedly while it boots to enter the Startup Menu.
  • Select F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  • In BIOS, look for any settings related to Internal Device or Integrated Camera, and ensure it's enabled.
  • Save the changes and exit the BIOS.

7. Perform a System Restore

If the issue started after a recent update or software change, performing a System Restore to a previous point when the camera was working might help.

  • Type System Restore in the Start menu and select Create a restore point.
  • Under the System Protection tab, click System Restore and follow the prompts.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
