HP Chromebook - 14-ca001no

For the past few months my camera has not been working properly. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it says "camera not found" when I try to enter a meeting in Google Hangouts. I've checked other apps and the camera doesn't work there either. I've tried resetting my Chromebook, which also didn't work. What should I do?

The issue could be caused by driver problems.

 

Try installing the latest updates to your installed version of Chrome.

 

Go to settings and click on about chrome and then hit the check for updates and install any that you find.

 

Restart your notebook and try the webcam.

I checked, but it says my Chromebook is up to date

the possibility does exist that the web cam is no longer functional.

 

This is the downside of Chromebooks.

 

I own a Chromebook but after experiencing what owning one is like I would only purchase a notebook as a replacement.
