Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am currently using Windows 10 Pro (64 Bit) with 24GB of DDR4 - 2666 (1333MHZ) of ram.

In the slot #1, I have an 8GB module, and in my slot #2, I am using a 16GB module.

I am planning to upgrade my slot #1 to a 16GB module.

I am attaching the screenshots of my current specs.

I need more speed while working on ADOBE Tools. I'm using a Samsung 970 Pro SSD too. Should I upgrade it to 980 Pro or add another 8Gb of ram to my laptop?

I'm looking for an expert's advice.

Thank you,

- Mubashir

Hi:

The service manual (chapter 1) and Crucial's memory report for your notebook both indicate the max memory is 2 x 8 GB.

However, since your notebook has the Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ, personally I believe it will take up to 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2400 memory.

If you look at the list of Kaby Lake non-HQ processors, they support a max of 32 GB of memory with 4 memory slots.

If you look at the Kaby Lake HQ processors, they support a max of 64 GB of memory with 4 memory slots.

So...I would say that if the non-HQ processors support 16 GB of memory with 2 memory slots, yours should support 32 GB of memory with 2 memory slots.

This would be a compatible 16 GB memory module to experiment with, if you want to try...
