Hi,

You can not add the old RAM to the new machine as DDR3 will not fit nor work with a DDR4 system.

You can upgrade the notebook to max 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM (2x16GB)

On pagfe 31 of service manual you can see how to install extra RAM

Hope it helps,

hi again 😀

just wanted to add that you could add an extra 4GB of DDR3 1600MHz RAM to the old notebook. (max 16GB (2x8GB))

Ex

https://www.amazon.in/Kingston-1600MHz-PC3-12800-Notebook-KVR16S11S8/dp/B008CP5R8K/ref=sr_1_1?dchild...

and replace the hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD (reinstall the OS)

and you would have a nice and fast machine to use or give away.

Take care,
