I think I already had this, listed under the heading: HP Help and Support, in start menu as: HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Window! But I installed it again anyway just to make sure from the link you provided!
No change in BIOS though, maybe the option only becomes available after you've intalled the SSD!?
Many thanks.

Then the next best thing would be to clone your HDD to an SSD.
We use "Spotmau PowerSuite" for cloning.
http://www.spotmau.com/products/package/powersuite.html
Use a USB to SATA adaptor and connect the SSD to your laptop.

I think maybe this might be the best solution (I use AOMEI Backupper Professional!), even though I prefer the lower cost storage capacity you get with an HDD!
Seems like a waste of a perfectly sound 1TB HDD though if you ask me, I still have 850gb available!
Not too sure on the life expectancy on SSD's vs HDD's though? I think an HDD would last longer because of writing operations, and you also have to be aware of possible data loss with SSD's!...
If the truth be known I'm still confused.com as to what the best solution for myself is really!? But thanks RE051ST for your help & support all the same, in bringing me a step closer an adventual conclusion !
