Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I have a laptop about a year or so old that I plan on upgrading. I don't have much of a budget to go ahead a build a desktop so this was the next best choice. I plan on throwing in 16GB of 2666 MHz Ram and a 1TB SSD. I decided to pop open the bottom cover and check out the internals and I thought I noticed a slot for a NVME. I was wondering if I could actually use it, because it would be great for additional storage. I also wanted to know if the CPU could be upgraded at all. If so, what type of CPU would I need to buy for an upgrade? Same thing for the graphics. Is it upgradable? I've only built desktops before so I have no idea was is and isn't upgradable other than the RAM and HDD. Last thing, I tried unscrewing the screws keeping the HDD in place and had no luck loosening them. The screws aren't stripped or anything and the screwdriver I'm using is the right size, so I'm out of ideas. A friend of mine suggested trying the screwing the opposite way though, so I might try that next time I open the laptop up.

Firstly the specs of your machine is

          https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05997528

1. RAM: It has 4 GB DDR4-1866 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB) now. 2666MHz may not run or will only run at 1866MHz. Your machine has AMD A6-9225 Dual-Core (2.6 GHz base frequency, up to 3 GHz burst frequency, 1 MB cache) CPU/Processor therefore it only has ONE slot on RAM and supports 8GB max.  You can replace 4GB with the following compatible 8GB and it will run at 1866MHz

2. STORAGE: Are you sure it has M.2 NVMe slot ? I don't think so. You can upgrade 1TB HDD with 2.5" SATA SSD using standard 2.5" SSD's for laptops/notebooks.

3. CPU and GPU: You have to buy new System board (if available) using page 71 of the following manual

              http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06719946.pdf

My suggestion: Buy new machine may be ending up cheaper.  Or do the #3 first and do #1 and #2 later.

Regards.
