Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Upgrade the I7 CPU-5500u on my HP ENVY M7 Laptop.

 

Can I upgrade the CPU on this motherboard  P/N: 790959-501 to a higher /faster

CPU ?

On these newer model PC's, the processors are integrated onto the motherboard.

 

The only way to upgrade the processor would be to replace the entire motherboard with one listed in the service manual for your notebook that may have a better processor.

 

Doing such an upgrade would be expensive and labor intensive.

Thank you so much Paul for getting back to me so quickly.

I greatly appreciate it.

I was afraid of that as I have handed down my ENVY laptop to my nephew

and PURCHASED THE Spectre I7 CPU - 7500 and 1TB SSD....which is so

very fast...and it looks good too !!Again thank you so much for your time.
