Someone give this laptop as a gift 3 years ago,
I upgraded this laptop to 8gb of ram and now I wondering if this laptop CPU can be upgrade to an i5 or i7, for better performance, if it upgradeable what best CPU that I can get to this laptop

As far as I can tell, the processor is removable and can be upgraded.
Chapter 3 of the service manual lists the supported processors.
Looks like you can upgrade to the i5-3230M or the i5-3210M processor.
There is also a procedure to remove and replace the processor in chapter 4.
It would be a lot of work for very little performance improvement in my opinion.
You'd be much better off replacing the 500 GB mechanical hard drive with a 500 GB 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).

No, you can't upgrade its CPU because CPU is embedded to its system board. I wooldn't spend money more to upgrade it. Saving money and buy new machine.
