Pavilion dv6 6119tx notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am proud owner of hp products since last 12 years. I always admire the quality they have in their products.

My question is regarding upgrading cpu of my dv6 6119tx notebook.

I have readed repair manual of dv6 but quite unsure regarding this issue hence this question.

My notebook has core i5 2410m, 35watt and I wants to upgrade it to core i7 2820qm, 45watt, former is dual core with 4 threads & later is quad core with 8 threads. Both have same socket. My question is that possible & do I also need to upgrade my psu from 90 watt to 120 watt. And I have latest bios update already done. Does bios support it? If no then which quad core cpu would you recommend me.

Thanks & regards.

Please use the list of compatible processors (Intel) on the following manual  (page 96)

Manual also shows you how to replace the processor. You need

(a) Right part #,

(b) Latest BIOS on the following link
