Hi,

I am considering to add a 512 GB SSD in my HP 15 bs145tu laptop alongwith the pre existing HDD of 1 TB. Based on my research, it looks like I can add SATA SSD using the M.2 slot. Can you please confirm it?

Also, would it really improve the performance by having SATA SSD but not the NVME SSD? Is there some performance comparison for SATA SSD vs HDD?

Hi:

 

Your notebook's M.2 slot only supports SATA M.2 SSD's not NVMe.

 

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types.
