Can I add an ssd or nvme to my jp laptop model number  15s-gy0003AU

The specs https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c08216752 do not list an appropriate slot to fit an NVME drive but you should be able to replace the existing hard drive with an SSD drive.

Yes, your notebook has a M.2 SSD slot.

 

See chapter 1 of the maintenance and service guide for the supported drive types.

 

HP 15s-gy0000 Laptop PC series - Setup and User Guides | HP® Support

 

According to the manual, the slot supports both NVMe and SATA SSD's.

 

The Crucial memory/SSD report for your notebook also indicates that NVMe SSD's are supported.
